Facts about the Negro
Pittsburgh: Lincoln Park Studios, 1960. First edition. 8vo, [69]pp. Illustrations throughout by A.S. Milai. Staple bound in illustrated card wrappers which show some toning and smudging. Clean internally and very good.
Attractively illustrated fact book on African Americans by the pioneering historian, J.A. Rogers (1880-1966). These snippets on important figures were patterned after the look of Robert Ripley's popular Believe it or Not Cartoons, and originally appeared in the Pittsburgh Courier as a feature from 1934-1971. The cartoon was first called "Your History" and was changed in 1962 to the present title, following this collection. Milai illustrated the feature from 1940 through the end of its run.
