Austin: The University of Texas Press, 1958. First edition. Hardcover in illustrated jacket (uncredited), 282pp. Inscribed by Paredes to the former owner on the half title. Texas Folklore Society bookplate to front pastedown, old tape residue to rear boards where jacket protector had been attached. Colorful jacket toned but with minimal edge wear. A nicely preserved, very good+ copy.

Scarce inscribed copy of this book on the Mexican border bandit, Gregorio Cortez Lira.
