[Boston]: N.p., [1796?]. First edition. 8vo, [3], 141pp. Title leaf supplied in facsimile. Recently bound in quarter calf, marbled paper boards, black spine label with gilt lettering. Final two leaves with small hole at center, few words affected, but not the sense. Page block toned and with some minor foxing. A clean, very good example.

An early Boston printing of Jay's Treaty with contemporary, local critique both commercial and constitutional, and including an important letter from President Washington.  Sabin lists the contents:

Treaty; Objections to the Treaty; The Federalist, nos. 1—4, as published in the Centinel, July 22-Aug. 1, 179S; The Constitutionalist, nos. 1-5, as published in the Chronicle, July 27-Aug. 17, 1795; The Federalist, nos. 5-7, as published in the Centinel, Aug. 8-26, 179S; Letter from the President of the United States to the Selectmen of Boston, July 20, 179S; [Resolutions of] Boston Chamber of Commerce, Aug. 15, 179S; Dissent [of certain merchants and other inhabitants of Boston], July 15, 179S, published in the Columbian Centinel, Aug. 19.

This pamphlet is seemingly quite scarce in the trade.  We have struggled to identify any copies appearing on the market since 1975.
