Conservation & Fine Binding [Signed Etching]
Summerfield, NC: 1991. 24x16cm bifolium of handmade cream stock, gravure by Louis-Pierre Bougie impressed on front, numbered 39/50 and signed in 1991. Inside is an holograph note from Lallier and Etherington to Mel Kavin, signed by both and with their address label adhered, dated in 2003. Few faint marginal smudges and light bumps else near fine.
Stunning mixed media etching by the Canadian painter and printmaker known for his works on human nature and form, specifically etchings and engravings. This piece was included in the 1991 Susan Conway Carroll Galleries exhibition of Etchings and Design Bindings by Bougie and renowned binders Monique Lallier and Don Etherington. It appears Bougie printed these for Lallier and Etherington's use as greetings, here being sent with a warm sentiment to Southern California binder, Mel Kavin of Kater-Crafts. A lovely, bibliophilic item. Item #9207
