A Christmas tradition in the Madeleine and Hugh Franklin family from 1946-1963, was to create Christmas cards with original art drawn by L'Engle, that were then hand-colored and sent to friends and family.
Their daughter, Josephine, was born in 1947, so this image would be the the first of them as a family of three with the couple pushing baby Jo in a stroller and Madeleine walking their dog, Touché. A wonderfully warm and nostalgic piece not often seen. Item #9111
