Very scarce printing example from the early years of the Caney Creek Community Center in Eastern Kentucky. The center was founded in 1917 by Alice Lloyd (1876-1962) with her mission of providing basic social services, healthcare, and education for children in rural Appalachia, Kentucky. Besides an educator, Lloyd was a writer and editor, supporting women's suffrage, and the freethought movement. The CCCC was vital to community and economic development of the region, and eventually expanded to include the higher education institutions of Alice Lloyd College and the June Buchanan School.
