A Discription and Playne Discourse of Paper [Sic]

Los Angeles: Members of Columbian 415 Chappel, 1982. Limited to 20 copies. Folio, 20x13",[10]pp. Title in two colors as well as the decorated initial. Stab sewn in gray card wrappers which show some minute chipping around edges. Clean internally and nearly fine.

Large format project from Richard J. Hoffmann and his Columbian 415 Chappel.  Hoffman founded the group after his retirement in 1978 when his Columbian 415 press which was on loan to CSULA was returned to his home, the Chappel meeting at his home once a month for socializing and printing activities.  Fellow Zamorano Club, and former Los Angeles Sheriff, John H. Urabec met with Hoffman to craft the all-rag paper which was used in these projects.  This printing was done to celebrate Urabec's 75th birthday in an edition of just 20 copies, and prints a short piece from A Sparke of Friendship and Warme Goodwill by Thomas Churchyard, Gent., London, 1588.
