Finely printed collection of of works from the New England-born artist who settled in Texas in 1852, Sarah Ann Lillie Hardinge (1824-1913). She produced a series of watercolors between 1852 and 1856, reproduced here, which depict early scenes of the territory.
This copy is inscribed by Ron Tyler, former Director of the Amon Carter Museum, who provided the introduction and captions for the publication. Additionally signed by printer, David Holman (Wind River Press in Austin), and William Holman, who did the design and typography. A beautiful volume which is somewhat scarce in hardcover. Item #6431
