Near fine with a single chip from head cap else well preserved. Former owner's bookplate to front pastedown, as well as an earlier ownership signature to front fly. Housed in a sharp, custom box.

Nice first edition of this important account by Lawrence Kip (1836-1899), Second Lieutenant, Third Artillery under General Wright in the expedition against the Northern tribes.
