n.p. 1915. Hanging wall calendar, 38 x 18cm, cardstock backing with two sheets of handmade paper and illustrated cardstock print, with 4 x 5cm calendar attached at bottom. Original yarn tie in tact. Some staining to back and a few spots to front, else nicely preserved. Beautiful wall calendar containing the first stanza of one of the more well known poems from the American nature writer, John Burroughs, entitled "Waiting."

Serene, I fold my hands and wait,
Nor care for wind, or tide, or sea;
I crave no more 'gainst time or fate,
For lo! my own shall come to me.

Accompanied by an illustration by an unknown artist of an angel with hands folded. Item #4713
