University of Texas English Bulletin Number 10 containing "Folk-Lore in Texas and the Texas Folk-Lore Society
Austin, TX: The University of Texas, 1922. 1st Edition. Soft cover. 8vo, 39 pp. University of Texas Bulletin No. 2245, December 1, 1922, The English Bulletin Number 10. Contains an early appearance by J. Frank Dobie, establishing his interest in folklore of the state, the source material for much of his later writing. He became the secretary of the Texas Folklore Society that year as well, and would hold the post for 21 years. This pamphlet is complete in 39 pages, though most likely issued with wrappers, which this copy is missing. Dobie has signed twice, once on the table of contents with a line to his article and a proclamation of "propaganda," and again at his appearance on pg 17. Worldcat shows 2 holdings, though only of the separate article. Very good, saddle stitched with tanning to edges of paper and a split to the title page spine, up to the first staple. McVicker C14, Sloan Catalogue Ten, Part 1, 888. Very Good. Item #4261
