New York: Macmillan, 1922. 1st Edition. Hardcover. First printing of this work by Wister, which deals with WWI and its aftermath. Signed and dated in November, 1922 (the month after publication) by Wister on the half title, and scarce thus. This copy contains a gift inscription on the ffep by Francis Rawle to a cousin, James. It states he and Wister were "companions in Fance in April and May, 1919," which presumably is where much of the content of this work was drawn from. Rawle was also a lawyer for whom Wister worked in Philadelphia after his graduation from Harvard Law School. Very good with lightly bumped lower corner, showing some shelf wear, and with labels tanned, foxed, and soiiled. Clean and tight internally. Very Good. Item #3353
