London: Secker and Warburg, 1952. 1st Edition. Hardcover. First British edition of this novel from L'engle, and though not marked as such in any way, comes from the author's personal library. Very good with some toning to spine and foredge of front board. Jacket shows a bit of rubbing at spine ends and corners and is otherwise nicely preserved. Oddly, a circular portion of the author photo on the rear flap has been neatly trimmed out, presumably, by L'engle herself. Perhaps she wasn't particularly happy with the photo? Otherwise a nice copy of a scarce book from the author's own library. Very Good / Very Good. Item #3292
