London: N.p., 1832. First editions. 2 works in one volume, 19x11cm, [2], 32pp; and [3], 12pp. 2 folding plates in the first work. 20th century binding of brown, marbled paper boards. Upper corner of pg. 23-24 with loss and repair, a few words in 7 lines affected, but not the sense. Otherwise, clean and complete internally and very good.

Two very scarce and eccentric astrological works from the the self-taught English astronomer, S.A. Mackey (1765-1843).  Mackey's theories revolved around the idea that ancient Egyptians possessed astronomical knowledge extending tens of thousands of years into the past. 

Our copies of these pamphlets seem to match the digitized versions in google books as far as the number of plates (2 in total).  However, the first plate is marked "plate C" and we find other sources that mention 2 larger folding plates, which are perhaps absent from this copy.  Gardner in his Catalogue Raisonne mentions these two publications separately, and the latter containing a plate.   In any event, both are quite scarce with OCLC seemingly citing only the digital versions.
