Uncommon monograph being an early archaeological study of human trophy skulls recovered from pre-Hispanic burial sites in Argentina's Quebrada de Humahuaca. Physical modification of the skulls is described and copiously illustrated, along with their context in ceremony, and associated pottery and artifacts.
