Scarce first edition of this work by American writer, Samuel W. Taylor who is best known for his short story "A Situation of Gravity," which was adapted by Disney as The Absent-Minded Professor (1961).  

I Have Six Wives is essentially an insider's look at modern fundamentalist polygamy in the 1950s.   Although Taylor used fictitious names to protect privacy, the book's central character "Mac" is based on the real life of Rulon C. Allred, leader of the Apostolic United Brethren, a breakaway sect of Mormon fundamentalists.
