London: John Murray, Albermarle Street, 1841. First edition. 8vo, xvi, 336pp. Illustrated with numerous plates by Cruikshank. Later 19th century half green calf, gilt tooled spine with red calf label, cloth boards. Presentation inscription from Dibdin dated 1841 on a blank leaf at front. Scuffing at inner hinges, joints rubbed, boards perhaps reattached at some point, front board not attached. Bookplate to front pastedown. A very good, sound copy.

Collection of maritime verse by the English composer, Charles Dibdin, collected posthumously by his son and composer, Thomas John Dibdin in the year of his own death. Presentation copy, inscribed by Dibdin on the front flyleaf, "With many thanks from Thos. Dibdin to [_.W.]? Cribb, 1841." The recipient is likely the "Cribb, - Esq." recorded in the subscriber list. Item #10159
