Quick inside front cover, with calling card of Major George Francis Lyon, Philippines Constabulary adhered below the presentation, along with Quick's ownership stamp. Contemporary black straight grain morocco ruled and lettered in gilt. Small edge tears to pgs iii-viii, page block toned and with some scattered foxing. Old tape reinforcement to front hinge. Boards rubbed, joints mostly split, but sound. A very good copy.
Rare early New York masonic constitutions written by the Grand Secretary of the Grand lodge of New York, Elias Hicks. This copy with an interesting provenance, presented to and owned by prominent mason and prominent architect from Yonkers, Edwin A. Quick (1841-1913), who designed the Colgate Library, Yonkers Public Library and City Hall, Messiah Baptist Church, among many others.
