London: John Rodker, 1929. First edition in English, limited to 1275 copies, this being 1164. 4to, 206pp. Vignette woodcut illustrations throughout, printed in two columns. Black cloth backed red cloth boards with gilt illustration to upper, and gilt lettering to spine, top edge stained black. Very good with bump to lower edges of both boards, some light soiling, and rubbing to corners. Spine lettering dulled, endpapers tanned else clean internally and very good.
First edition in English of this classic treatise on witchcraft originally published in 1608. English author and purveyor of occultism, Montague Summers (1880-1948) edited and directed the publication which was translated into English for the first time by E.A. Ashwin. . Item #5638
