Signed and inscribed by Wood and Bard Field opposite half title, and dated Jan 1, 1932 in Los Gatos, CA. Flexible green paper boards, printed spine label. Touch of damp staining to covers only at base of spine, wear and toning to label. Very good.
Beautifully designed book handed out to commemorate the wedding of Katherine Field and James Caldwell. Privately printed in a limitation of approximately 200 by the Grabhorns for the bride's mother, Sara Bard Field (1882-1974), the important California suffragist and poet. The book was cowritten by her companion at the time, and soon-to-be second husband, Charles Erskine Scott Wood (1852-1944).
