The Future of Drinking
Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1930. First edition. 8vo, 173pp. Illustrations by Don Herold. Publisher's beige cloth stamped in red and black, illustrated jacket. Some highlighting in yellow throughout, toning to text block else clean. Spine of jacket toned, light chipping and wrinkling at corners and spine ends, otherwise nicely preserved. Very good.
Stylishly illustrated prohibition era book which provides a commentary on the present situation, and comedically attempts to straddle the line:
"What is said of the pleasures of drinking will open the eyes of the professional drys, and the sour notes in the hymn to drunkenness will bring some cold truths home to the professional drunkards."
