Relatively early and comprehensive directory from 20th century Dallas.  The years leading up to the first World War saw the city as an economic hub of the South, producing much of the country's cotton.  Three years after this directory was published, in 1914, Dallas became the seat of the 11th Federal Reserve District.  Southern Methodist University was founded in 1911, though didn't open its doors until a few years later.  Appropriately featured on the front cover is R.H. Dearing & Sons artesian and oil well contractors, Dallas becoming a center of the oil boom in the years following.

Dallas directories from this time period are uncommon. Item #5113
