Dallas: J. F. Worley Directory Co., 1915. Quarto, 10.5x7," 920, [2]pp. Pink, yellow, and white paper throughout, text block stamped with ads on all edges. Blue cloth boards lettered in silver. Good condition, binding shaken with fraying at spine ends. Cloth of rear joint split 2/3 down from the top. Single leaf loose and laid in else clean and complete internally.
Serviceable copy of this uncommon directory from a booming time in Dallas.  The years surrounding the first World War saw the city as an economic hub of the South, producing much of the country's cotton.  Southern Methodist University was established in 1911 and opened its doors in 1915 due to construction delays.  Several years later, Dallas would become the center of the nation's petroleum market.
