Some rubbing to extremities, light staining, and discoloration to spine else clean and sound. Large volume of prints of traditional garb from African and Asian nations including Morocco, Sudan, Egypt, Turkey, Tibet, Japan, China, and others, by the German designer, Max Karl Tilke (1869-1942). The text is in French and the book is complete in 128 plates. Tilke's work in painted, traditional costume has both an artistic bent as well as importance as an ethnographical source of cultural history. Item #4765
