Brixham, Devon: 1986. 1st Edition. No Binding. Typed manuscript copy of this 1250 word Cthulhu Mythos short story with signature and inscription from Lumley to Carl Ford, editor of Dagon magazine, where the story appeared with illustrations by Martin McKenna, in issue 15, November-December 1986. The inscription reads: "Sorry, the 3 Lumley books were mopped up by James Simmons: I packed out the parcel with a couple of other good things. Here's the story we talked about. I'd like it back some time. It would be nice to see it illustrated, but I haven't the time to go looking for an artist!" The typescript consists of five stapled pages, 11 1/2 x 8." Also included are seven lengthy letters from Lumley to Ford in the years 1985-1989 discussing the author's works, other books Lumley sold to Ford, permission for usage of poems and other writings, other publishers, and many additional interesting topics. Some excerpts: "Day of the Aching in the Left Buttock - Hour of the Spiral Stench from the Sock Drawer..." "Yea, and verily I heard it from a ghoul that ye BFS Night was a good one, with splendid literary feastings and xbloodx ale slopped by the gallon. Alas, I was at my thaumaturgies, lest a blight fall upon me, and so could not attend..." Three of the letters are on Lumley's letterhead, one which has been hand colored and decorated by the author. Four letters on plain paper, all letters signed. One letter is simply an author's bio written by Lumley.
